About Armidale

Armidale is a university and cathedral city in northern New South Wales, Australia. Located approximately half way between Sydney and Brisbane on the New England Highway, it is the administrative centre for the Northern Tablelands region. It is the seat of The University of New England, and has a population of about 21,000.

 

Armidale is a thriving and culturally vibrant rural city. The museums, galleries, theatre and music events have helped to give Armidale its deserved reputation as the most cosmopolitan city in NSW outside of Sydney.
